Picture Research

1 day Picture Research course suitable for those already working in publishing.

This course is about how to find and select pictures; monitor their progress within a project, work within photographic and art copyright, develop a system for storing and recording pictures and use online searching techniques.

It includes project work and discussion sessions, and aims

Taught by PRA member Katharine Kollberg.

Picture Research by Distance Learning

Picture Research

The Publishing Training Centre (PTC) has launched a new distance learning course in picture research. Written by Julian Jackson, picture research and digital technology expert, it is designed to be as comprehensive and as realistic as possible.

The course is suitable for the complete beginner, but is just as appropriate for those with some experience of picture research and who need to fill the gaps in their knowledge.
The exercises are especially designed to mimic real life situations in order to give students exactly the kind of experience they need. The programme covers the administrative and legal aspects of picture research – such as copyright, fees and budgeting – as well as the creative parts. This course is approved by the Picture Research Association.
